How to Hide Recession in Your Hair Line

For some of us recession areas in our hairline are all to real! Mine has been like this for as long as I can remember, and although I’m not embarrassed of it, I don’t like for it to be the first thing someone sees when they look at my hair.

I hope these Tips and Tricks are helpful for you!!

Products Mentioned:

I have to say the Toppik powders are literal magic! I’ve used them on my hair line and on my husband’s hair which like most men’s hair is beginning to thin in certain areas. They’re expensive, but you can buy the tiny ones for just $7 to see if you like them. Everyone I’ve talked to that has used them loves them :).

  1. Thank you so much. This saved my life!!! I have trichotillomania and I pull in those exact spots, so this really gave my hope on how I can hide it while it grows back.

  2. the tiny little blonde hairs you mention are called vellus hairs.  this is from female pattern thinning.  the hairline gradually, slowly, over time recedes to a v-point.  birth control pills can make it happen faster than it would have normally.  dht blockers can slow it down.  an anti-inflammatory diet can slow it down, as can scalp massage and derma-rolling.

  3. Thank you for this! Finally my huge 5 head will at become a 4.5 head.

  6. Your hair line depends on your genes! you may have a straight hairline or a widows peak (shown in the video). Widows peak is a dominant gene so it is more common. While a straight hairline is recessive so it isnt as common. You shouldnt be embarrassed about how you were meant to look.

  15. If your receding hairline is simply an age-related development and not the result of an infection or other medical problem, you won’t need treatment. If a medical condition is causing the hair loss, medication may be necessary.

An immune disorder may require a drug such as prednisone to help suppress an overactive immune response.

If you want to try to stop and reverse recedin hairline</a>, medications such as minoxidil (Rogaine) may be helpful.

This over-the-counter medication is a liquid that is rubbed into the scalp. Possible side effects include scalp irritation. Minoxidil tends to be more effective in restoring hair growth in smaller sections of the scalp, rather than in larger areas.

Another drug, finasteride (Propecia), is a pill that may help promote hair growth. Side effects associated with finasteride include reduced sex drive and a higher risk of prostate cancer.
