Milk paste and cucumbers are just a few of the easy items that can help heal irritation from a rash.
Baking Soda Solutions
Got a raging heat rash? Run a warm bath and add a cup of baking soda, which will calm the itch and cool your burning skin. You can also spread baking soda onto the skin by making a paste of baking soda with water. However, if your skin is sensitive or you’re prone to allergic reactions, opt for cornstarch over baking soda—cornstarch is gentler and less likely to irritate your already tender skin. Repeat the paste treatment a few times a day to quell your rash; thoroughly rinse and pat dry with a towel after treating.
Whip up a milk paste to ease your pesky rash: Place a half cup of dry milk powder in a bowl, and add water until you form a paste. Coat the rash area with the paste, and let the soothing action begin.
Nix Nickel Rash
Does your jewelry, watch, or zipper leave behind an itchy rash? You’ve probably got a nickel allergy. To treat the rash, dilute one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of water. Saturate a washcloth or small towel in the solution and press against your rash to calm the itch.
Sweet DIY Treat for a Rash
Combine one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of olive oil and spread over a burning, itchy rash. This combo boasts fantastic antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and pro-healing powers.
Always Go with Aloe
Aloe’s a classic for a reason: it works! Break off a piece of aloe leaf from a plant, slice it open, and rub the gooey goodness directly on your rash. It will help relieve inflammation and redness.
Cool as a Cucumber
The expression is based in truth: Cucumbers are, in fact, cooler than you. And they can offer cooling relief for your burning rash. Place cucumber slices over the affected skin or purée a peeled cucumber in a blender and spread onto the rash.
Cool Down with a Chamomile Compress
An easy chamomile tea can soothe your warm, red skin. Boil some water, then place a few tea bags in the pot or kettle and steep for 10 minutes. Remove the bags and transfer the hot tea to the fridge. Once chilled, soak a washcloth or paper towel in the cold tea and gently press against the reddened skin.
Go for the Cold
Face feeling hot during a rosacea flare-up? Apply a cold compress to constrict your blood vessels. Simply dip a washcloth in freezing-cold water and place it over the burning skin for 10 minutes.
