I Dressed Like It Was 1987

I styled 3 outfits inspired by the popular fashions of thirty years ago! From the hair metal rockers and groupies, to blazer-clad working ladies and teen pop idols decked out in acid wash jeans, I had a great time pretending it was 1987 and exploring fashion history through one of the most iconic decades – the 80s. Let me know what you think of my ~lookbook~ and if you want to see more of these!

  1. HELLO FRIENDS!!! hope u guys enjoy this adventure into 80s fashion! who's ready for 77? lmao

  2. You look so pretty in the office outfit!!

  3. I so enjoy watching your videos! You both are hilarious!

  4. 5:42 you look well dressed. I never in my life understood why pantyhose went out of style since they make a woman’s legs look more silky smooth and polished. Plus, they complete a woman’s outfit and bare legs don’t.

  5. All j see is Winona Ryder

  6. Do you know Heathers the musival?

  7. With the 1st outfit I was feelin A LOT of Sandy 2.0 from Grease

  8. The second outfit looked straight out of heathers

  9. This hairdresser rocked the 80's (I know what I say, I saw a lot of vids for 80's hair tutorial and none was this amaziiiing)

  10. Need these white heels, so cool !

  11. Glam Metal outfit is awesome (even the hair !)

  12. The leather and black was my FAVORITE I would wear that it was so cool.

  13. 1:34 for half a second i thought u were winona ryder lmao

  14. The first one looks like my aunt when she was 20ish, the second one looks like my grandma when she was 30ish and the third one looks like my mum when she was 15ish

  15. Gosh… I was 22 in 1987, and while nobody in my direct surrounding wore anything like the three styles shown (we just wore clothes, not 'styles'), the styles ARE very recognizable. You saw these styles in magazines and on tv.. and yeah, the bright colors were a thing, although only a small percentage op people in my circle (family/work/city) were so affluent that they could afford to change their wardrobe every year to match 'the style' of that season. Mostly people wore what they wore the year before and the year before that, and maybe bought an item or two, three every year to replace something. If they, like me, had a job, they would dress appropriately for the job, which for me, being the youngest at the office, meant jeans or corduryoy trousers, t-shirts and sweaters and sturdy shoes. Only the two secretaries (their job including 'being representative') wore skirts and blouses, and yes, their jackets did have shoulderpads, but the men just wore suits. Brown, grey, blue suits, with a shirt and tie. They were all in their late thirties up to their late fifties and worked in the office of a building society – what I'm trying to say, in my rambling way, is that 'following the latest trend' was not something that mattered to the majority of the population. Again, sure, we were surrounded with 'looks' from pop culture and magazines, and people wanted to look good and certainly not look 'dated' on 'unfashionable', but 'iconic styles' were worn by, well, style icons, and not so much by the general population.

  16. That's the first thing I thought when I seen his hair, lmao a flock of seagulls

  17. "*I'm a city lady,

    The city is mine

    Look at that city*"

  19. The first outfit finally makes sense now. I was working at Pinkberry when you came in looking like that and I asked if I should ask what was with the outfit. Now I understand. You looked good 😀

  23. She looks so much like Veronica in the working outfit

  24. My mom was nine I was in her left ovorie I think ?

  26. Pause at 7:00. Safiya looks adorable; I would say almost cinnamon roll adorable.

  34. I was born in 1984 but I can visually remember my surroundings from 1985 (1 year old and beyond) lol so I do remember a LOT, weirdly. I still am very nostalgic and happy that I lived through the late 80s and early 90s as a child. Honestly it was so damn amazing and fun to be a kid in those eras! You definitely brought me back to that time so thank you.

  35. Love it! I was young but this took me way back ❤️
