What Our Stylists Are Embracing for 2018

See the 4 trends our Stylists are loving this year!

Stitch Fix Stylist Trends 2018

Trend #1: Updated Denim

How Julia’s wearing updated denim:

“Denim with an upgraded twist is my easiest “off-duty” look to throw on with a white tee and my favorite leather jacket. Once the weather starts warming up, I’m going to pair my updated denim with chic mules and an easy button-up.”

How you can too:

“If you’re just starting out with this trend, start small with a raw hem so that it’s not too drastic of a change from your classic jeans. If you’re feeling a little bolder and want to go straight for the fringe or embroidery, let the pants be the focal point and tone down the rest of your outfit with a neutral top.”

Trend #2: Punched-Up Gingham

How Lana’s Wearing Punched-Up Gingham:

“Working in downtown San Francisco, I love wearing trends that I can easily wear from the office then straight to drinks with my girlfriends or dinner with my husband. I can’t wait to pair a gingham dress with a leather jacket and mules for a look that’s a little edgier.”

How you can too:

“Add a little romance and pair a ruffled gingham skirt with your favorite sweater and flats. When the weather warms up, wear a gingham jacket as a light layer over a striped shirt and jeans for a little pattern mixing.”

Trend #3: Modern Workwear

How Talleda’s Wearing Modern Workwear:

“Since our office is on the casual side, I like to pair classic workwear staples, like a silky button-up, with more modern but still casual staples, like dark wash jeans. I think a good rule of thumb for a modern workwear outfit is sticking with one business-formal item, then pairing it with casual pieces that are still suitable for the office.”

How You Can Too:

“Modern workwear doesn’t mean you have to wear a complete business suit head to toe, but it’s about mixing elements of your everyday style with classic workwear pieces to jazz up your office dress code. Invest in pieces like a structured blazer, a lightweight trench coat, silky blouses and a pair of wide-leg trousers that you can rotate through with your other items.”

Trend #4: Casual Kimonos

How Nicole’s Wearing Casual Kimonos:

Kimonos are the ultimate in casual-chic glamour! With cooler weather currently on the calendar, I’m loving saturated hues and warmer-weight styles, like velvet, layered over a slim-fitting turtleneck, cropped denim flares and ankle booties. For warmer weather, I’ll head from the office to a night out with my husband in culottes, a silk cami and sandals paired with a statement-making kimono.”

How you can too:

“To ensure you don’t get lost in your kimono’s billowy layers, wear it with structured or fitted pieces like a knit dress or a basic tee. Heading to a party or event? Slip on a jumpsuit styled with open-toed heels and statement earrings. If you’re concerned about losing any ladylike curves, choosing a kimono with a sash or belt will make all the difference.”
